Tara has such a way with animals. The eyes are always amazing.
The following is Tara's description of Twilight Dreaming
Twilight summer heat, twitch of ears, deep purple shadows. Ochre dust swirls, velvet black skies pinpricked with a cacophony of stars, cicada chorus drumming at the end of a hot summer’s day. Childhood memories swirled through this roo as I painted.
I chose the colours in homage to Christmases spent camped amongst bush- re burnt gums, red soil getting into our noses, crunching sand in the chicken at the beach.
I have newly returned to Sydney after living the past 16 years in Europe. Slowly Australia is creeping back into my bones, into my eyes and my way of seeing. This roo painting is the start of a new Australian series and in celebration of my childhood here.
The original was painted in watercolours on canvas.
