Crocheted from cotton embroidery floss by fair trade partners in Southern India. This craft was introduced in southern India in the middle of the 19th century to provide poor and dalit women employment.
I love these earrings and am wearing my celadon colour now with matching necklace (see other listing). They are so pretty and light, but impactful in more ways than one. For nearly a decade Matrboomie have worked with groups around India aimed at raising women’s social status through economic independence and empowerment.
Also available in Sage and Rose. Please note that the rose is not quite as bright as shown in the photograph, more dusty in colour. Obviously still gorgeous though. Drop length is approximately 2 inches
